Travel to MD Anderson (Houston)

Everybody,

Thank you for the continued well wishes via text, phone, blog, etc. They are all great keep them coming! I wanted to update everybody on what's going on with my travel plans to go be seen by the MD Anderson Sarcoma unit this week in Houston, Texas. I have gotten a small education in the "process" of being referred from one hospital to another. The folks at MD Anderson have been great in helping me track down the numerous tests that I have had done already here in Seattle, its just been a matter of getting the actual live samples from the different labs, so that they can have them for their analysis/recommendations. I should be seen Thursday/Friday. It kind of feels like trying to get your first real job (haha)-Calling, following up, wondering, waiting, calling again! Im sure many of you remember that good ol feeling! Talk to everyone soon.

Andrew,

Hey I heard through friends about you. I am praying for you bro. I know I probably haven't seen you in a while (probably sometime playing ball in the EBC gym on a men's night) but I wanted to let you know that my wife and I live in the Houston area. I am married now and have 4 kids, crazy, huh?

We would love to help in any way while you're here if we can. Let me know if you need anything.
We're praying for you!
God Bless,

Hey Andrew,

This is your mom's friend Pflash from her Texas days. I just spent one day with you and your family back when you all came to San Antonio with me after your week at Pine Cove about 1991. You stayed at the Motel 6 in Austin, and you kept laughing about that "We'll leave the light on for you" commercial they were doing.

I remember how jazzed you were to get to the Spurs store and get some stuff. We did the Alamo and the Riverwalk, and I had a lot of fun with you all. I hope you did too.

It looks like you're up against a pretty tough team now - all those out-of-control little cells, and I think it's likely to be a rough game. But you have a bunch of great teammates in your family and your friends - we're praying for you and we love you.

Drew...

While it's great to see updated photos of you it hurts to hear the bad news about your cancer. I'm wishing the best for you and I know that you can pull through this with your strength, incredible attitude, friends and family.

Sennai and I were just wondering where our role model had gone because we haven't spoken to you in a while.

Just an update he's in business school in Wisconsin and I'm still here in Los Angeles.

I hope things go well in Houston and I'll spread the word for fundraising and spiritual support.

Love you like a brother fam,

We know you as the person that redefined the word "fun." We're also confident that you're going to redefine a couple other words, like "strength, battle, conquer, overcome and triumph." All your family, friends and co-workers have your back, so go out and fight this thing...we know you will win.
